Camping with teens is a different dynamic than camping with younger children. Though both age groups are easily distracted by snacks, teens are a little more difficult to impress. After the initial tasks of arriving at and setting up the campsite are finished, the lack of electronics and comforts of home can be glaringly apparent. A camping photo scavenger hunt for teens gets them up out of the folding chairs and out exploring the campground. They’ll be up and moving, plus it’s a great way to get them looking at the environment around them a little more closely.
Play this photo scavenger hunt using traditional cameras or smart phones. If you have a big group, split into teams for extra silly fun. Have a goofy statue of a beaver next to the camp store? I’ve left a little space on the bottom to add any extra photos of things specific to your campground. First person to find and photograph everything on the list is the big winner. Or if you need a shorter activity, set a time limit and find as many as possible.

Camping Photo Scavenger Hunt
Not only will you have an engaging camping activity for your teens (or even adults!), you’ll also have a huge batch of photos to remember the trip. It’s an entertaining look back at your trip from each person’s perspective to see what they found funny and interesting. After you return home, have everyone upload their phone photos from both camping scavenger hunts to a computer or shared google drive. Once you have everyone’s photos, you can either print and insert in photo sleeve album or upload to a photo book printer like Mixbook and create a camping vacation album the whole family can enjoy.
